To erect high-quality buildings faster, contractors turn to South Sioux City, NE-based LiteForm, known throughout the region for its innovative products. The company’s cutting-edge advancements in insulated concrete form technology ensure new structures will be durable and energy-efficient. Below is a closer look at their LiteForm TILT® system and how it benefits construction projects.

What is LiteForm TILT?

This ICF product is used for tilt-up construction, where the walls of a building are poured onsite. Expanded polystyrene (eps) panels are used as sandwich insulation between two faces of concrete. The concrete panels can be customized to include openings in the walls.  Rib depth can also be adjusted to meet project specifications.

Why Builders Use the TILT System

South-Sioux-City-Nebraska-ICF-productsArts and crafts retailer, Hobby Lobby, recently tested LiteForm’s ICF products when building its new Sioux City, IA, outpost. The TILT system shaved more than two weeks off construction. Fifty-seven TILT sandwich panels, each with at least three inches of eps foam insulation, were incorporated. The company’s ICF blocks were used for stem walls, while the HELIX Micro Rebar®  helped reinforce slabs. FlexxBoard25® insulating foam board was placed under entryway stoops and the building perimeter to keep frost away from the foundation. The insulation capabilities of this product also assist in keeping heating and cooling costs low.

The project has been selected as the recipient of the Above-Ground Buildings Category Award for 2018, presented by the Iowa Ready Mixed Concrete Association. Representatives from LiteForm will be on hand to accept the prestigious honor at the Excellence in Concrete Awards during the Iowa Better Concrete Conference on November 8. The LiteForm TILT system is also currently being used in the new gymnasium project at Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in Sioux City, saving time and cutting back on costs.
